Chocolate Cake

Assalamualaikum…Hello there!

It has been quite sometime already since I last updated my post. Ahh... look how time really flies. I have not been idle but it’s just that so many things had happened since but I was still keeping busy with my baking/cooking projects. I managed however uploaded my activities at my FB fanpage via my Samsung Note II .. which was much faster and easier.

Just want to share my story...It was a fine Monday morning on 6th of January 2014. After sending off my kids to school I quickly rushed home feeling excited to start working on my baking project plans. Ideas have started flowing in and I started listing down all my ‘to do list’…Suddenly at about 11.00 am I received a call from my MIL (mother-in-law) telling me that my BIL (bro-in-law) had fallen and was half unconscious. Oh my God… I was telling myself BIL was such a big sized guy and there were no other people in that house besides my old parents-in law. Luckily there were some male neighbours around at that time who helped BIL and put him on the bed. BIL was later taken to the hospital in an ambulance and was later diagnosed with mild stroke. Thanks to Allah because it happened while he was at home or else it could’ve been a different story already.

It has been quite a challenging time for us since that moment especially for my husband and his other siblings as they had to take turns to look after their ailing brother. My husband had to utilize his one week blocked leave for this purpose…most of the time he was with BIL. So during this period I had to fully take charge in handling our family matters and the children’s need. Well some people are just so lucky like BIL because he still has his siblings willing to sacrifice and look after him when he is in need. Wonder if anything happened to me...my siblings are all staying far from me and they have their own family to take care of... (recalling the time when I was all alone in the ICU due to dengue 6 years ago). Indirectly this is also a test from Allah to us. Whatever happens happens for a reason... Allah knows best Subhanallah.

BIL’s body could not move initially but after a few sessions of physiotheraphy and massage he could slowly make some movement. Alhamdulillah BIL's condition has improved a lot now. He can now stand up and walk all by himself. The doctor who attended his case said that he will be fully recovered provided that he follows the treatment and procedures as advised. Luckily it’s only a mild stroke. Anyway it’s all in the mind actually. If he remains strong and positive InsyaAllah he will be fine. We hope he will be fully recovered and can lead his life as usual and with a new spirit…ie. change to a better lifestyle.

Well, when any family member got sick or got admitted to hospital usually it is also the time for everybody else in the family as well as relatives to come and gather and give support to sick one. It is also the time for the children to hook up with their cousins and siblings. Having the children in mind, I decided to bake something for them and the one that crossed my mind atthat time was no other than a simple moist chocolate cake and I am sure kids will never reject the chocolatey taste of a chocolate cake.

Tadaa...finally it’s done. Luckily I managed to steal a few slices away for photo shoots because the rest were all cleared as soon as they are served….Alhamdulillah.

Enjoy the pics!
